Member Expectations

  • Meetings will be held monthly on the 3rd Monday of the month at Grenville Mutual Insurance at 380 Colonnade Dr, Kemptville, ON K0G 1J0 from 6:30-8:30. Should the regular meeting day fall on a holiday, the meeting will move to the 2nd Monday of the month. Meetings start promptly at 6:30 for networking. Please be on time. Remember that fellow KWIB members are potential clients – and you would never be late for a client meeting!
  • Unless other arrangements are made, members are expected to attend monthly meetings. If a member misses two consecutive meetings, their membership will be put on probation. A member of the committee will call you regarding your membership. As we are an exclusive group this will prevent someone from filling a category when they are not attending meetings.
  • Potential members may come to 2 meetings before paying annual dues so that they can judge if KWIB will be a good fit for them.
  • Annual dues of $120 must be received from each member to be considered in good standing. Dues are expected to be paid by the end of March each year or within 3 months of joining KWIB, unless other arrangements are made with the Executive Committee. New members’ dues will be prorated beginning in the month of their first meeting attended. (E.g. if you are considering joining KWIB you may come to the March and April meetings to see if we are a good fit. Should you choose to join KWIB, your dues will be 10 months (March – December) at $10 per month for a total of $100.)
  • If a member would like to bring a potential member to a meeting, they should check first with the Membership Coordinator to ensure the potential member doesn’t fit into a category already filled.
  • All members will conduct themselves professionally at meetings, in email correspondence and over the telephone.
  • It is expected that members will support other members including attending special events fellow members put on; “liking” Facebook pages; providing referrals and through word of mouth. All members are encouraged to be considerate of their fellow members when talking about or posting business services.
  • Members are encouraged to make KWIB flyers available in their businesses.
  • Members are encouraged to display the KWIB logo and BR+E Alliance logo on their promotional materials and website.
  • Members are encouraged to give constructive criticism to fellow members regarding the services they received at their businesses. We can all improve our businesses by fixing any deficiencies and celebrating excellent service!
  • Members are expected to participate in networking events, trade shows, community events supported by KWIB and other events - no contribution is too small. This is a networking group – use it to its full potential!
  • Members are expected to participate in large and small groups during meetings. Your experience, expertise and opinion are a valued commodity. Please come prepared to share!
